SplatWorks™

WriteSplat™ is the classroom writing workspace.

WriteSplat™ is a private, browser-based word processor for drafts, classroom handouts, readability feedback, templates, cloze passages, citations, and portable document exports.

Current app

Write, analyze, save, and export without an account.

WriteSplat gives teachers and students a simple writing space with automatic saving, easy file backup, readability feedback, ready-to-use classroom templates, teacher-friendly writing tools, and export options for sharing or printing student work.

Getting started

Start a blank document or choose a classroom template. Write and format the draft, then use the readability sidebar to review suggestions. Save a native .writesplat.json backup before exporting a handout or ODT document.

Saving and school hosting

Browser storage belongs to this browser and device; it is not a durable backup. Save project files regularly and test reopening them. Installing the district suite makes the app available on your school server; it does not automatically connect every SplatWorks file to whiteboard account-based saving.

Exchange files with Word and Writer

Import and export DOCX (.docx) and OpenDocument Text (.odt) files. These paths support common classroom text, headings, lists, simple tables, links, and basic formatting. Complex page layouts and other advanced features may change. Keep a .writesplat.json backup for continued editing in WriteSplat.
