Teacher Quick Start
Open your board. Sign in. Start teaching.
On a district-hosted DrawSplat installation, your school has already connected the saving service and roster. Use your own school account; you do not need a separate Teacher Admin unlock password.
1. Open your district whiteboard
Use your school's DrawSplat address. Open Whiteboard on this installation.
- A new board starts with a plain white page. Choose graph paper or another background when your lesson needs it.
- Draw, type or add a sticky note right away. Use File → Save File to download an editable copy.
- The first school-connected visit starts with Education Tools. You can change the workspace and view in Options.
2. Sign in with your school account
- Open Options → Get Started with Your School.
- Select School sign-in / account.
- Choose Google sign-in when your district enables it, using the school email listed in your roster. Otherwise use your own provisioned DrawSplat email/password account.
You can also sign in through File → Online account or when saving online. Google sign-in and Google Apps Script storage are separate features; teachers on the district saving service do not need to publish an Apps Script or enter a database password.
3. Open your classrooms
- In Options → Get Started with Your School, choose Open my classrooms, or use File → Online classrooms.
- Select one of your assigned classes.
- Choose Share current board as assignment to give enrolled students a copy.
- Return to the class to open student submissions and give feedback.
Your private board remains separate from the assignment copy. Students sign in with their own rostered accounts, open the assignment and turn in their work.
If a class is missing, check which school email you used. Classroom membership comes from the district roster; it is not unlocked by a shared teacher password.
4. Save and finish
- File → Save online: keep a private board in your account.
- File → Open online board: continue a saved board.
- File → Save File: download an editable backup to your device.
- File → Online account → Sign out: close account access on a shared device. Sign-in is limited to this browser tab; downloaded/device copies remain.
Choose the view that fits your lesson
- Education Tools: classroom and teaching controls.
- Productivity: a focused workspace for drawing and brainstorming.
- Beginner: large everyday drawing buttons and demonstrations.
- Growing: compact tools and explained menus.
- Full: the complete editing panels.
Changing the view preserves your board. Reset Board asks first; save a copy before starting over.
Other installation types
I use my own Google Apps Script connection
Open Teacher Admin for the separate Google storage setup. You can generate a browser password on that page for your device. Follow the Apps Script tutorial, then test and save the connection. This setup is for a personally managed Google storage connection.
I manage the district server
Use the district installation guide for Docker or native setup, and district roster administration with the administrator account created during installation.
