ClipSplat™: Record. Bookend. Share.
Turn a recording into a video with a clear introduction, useful visuals, and a closing message. Everything is processed on your device.
Six steps from idea to MP4
- Format & framing: choose Reel, Story, or Feed, fit or crop, and an optional illustrated video frame.
- Opening Panel: add a title, creator name, image, background color, and illustrated frame.
- Record: use your camera and microphone or choose an existing video. Click the timeline to seek; highlight and delete unwanted sections.
- Add images: insert image cards at positions in your video. Infographics fit fully by default, preserving their proportions.
- Closing Panel: finish with a message, image, and frame. Set either bookend to zero seconds to skip it.
- Share: preview the sequence and export an H.264/AAC MP4 to upload yourself.
The sections start collapsed. Open each numbered heading as you work.
Illustrated frames and movable text
Choose botanical, watercolor, scrapbook, cinema, and instant-photo artwork. Film-strip and instant-photo video frames place the actual footage inside the frame. Select a title or creator text box to move it and change its font, size, bold, italic, or alignment. These settings appear in the exported video; the safe-area guide and editing handles stay in the preview.
Choose the right output
Reel and Story export at 1080 × 1920 (9:16). Feed exports at 1080 × 1350 (4:5). ClipSplat allows up to 3 minutes for Reel, 60 seconds for Story, and 60 minutes for Feed, including panels and image cards. These are app presets; Instagram limits can vary. Longer projects depend on device memory. Save your original recording and keep the tab open while exporting.
Local processing, six languages, and self-hosting
No account is required and your media is not uploaded for processing. Choose English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Chinese, or Hindi/Urdu. There is no automatic project saving. The standalone download includes the local encoder and launchers for Windows, macOS, and Linux; Python 3 is required for local use. Camera permissions require HTTPS or localhost.
ClipSplat is available in the Media tools and Tools directory. The separate ClipSplat download can be installed alongside existing DrawSplat packages. Existing v3.1.28 archives predate this tool.
