Put your cutout in a new setting. Choose a scene, upload an image, or load a direct image URL.

Use a direct HTTPS image link. Some hosts block browser access; download the image and upload it instead. The image host receives the download request, without your subject image.

    Photos

    Choose Photo subject, then remove the background. The first use downloads a model from Hugging Face. Processing happens here, without uploading your picture. Best quality uses your graphics hardware when supported; a visible note explains any fallback to Fast.

    One clear subject works best. Hair, transparent objects, shadows, and busy groups can need further editing. Check the edges before saving.

    White backgrounds and logos

    White and color removal work immediately, with no model or external download. Adjust tolerance and soft edge, then process again. Choose edges to protect enclosed matching colors, or every matching pixel for logo openings.

    Choose a built-in scene, upload a background, or load an image URL to place your subject in a new setting. Replacement backgrounds update the preview and PNG/JPEG/ZIP exports without rerunning removal. Save transparent PNG for a slide or publication. JPEG uses white when a transparent background is selected. Use your cutout in LayoutSplat, ShowSplat, or ImageSplat.

    Models, downloads, and licenses

    BackdropSplat uses ORMBG (Apache-2.0) and BEN2 (MIT) with a locally hosted Transformers.js/ONNX engine. Model files are requested from Hugging Face and its file hosts. Online backgrounds are downloaded only when you choose Load image URL. Images are not sent there. See licenses and pinned versions. White/color removal, built-in backgrounds, and background uploads remain available when external connections are off. Browser settings or the suite’s privacy clearing controls can remove cached models.
